About Us

History

Ginger cultivation in Nigeria began in 1927 in the southern Kaduna State communities of Kwoi, Kubacha, Kafanchan, and Kagarko, as well as parts of Plateau State. Nigerian farmers primarily grow two main varieties of ginger: UG1 and UG2, with UG1 yielding more and UG2 being more pungent.

Using Ginger

Ginger is one of the most versatile and delicious spices on the planet.

It is available year-round and can significantly reduce blood sugar levels and enhance heart disease risk factors. Ginger may also have potent anti-diabetic properties.

Health Benefits

Ginger is renowned for its strong medicinal properties, primarily due to gingerol. It has a long history in both conventional and complementary therapies, aiding digestion, easing motion sickness, and combating the flu and common cold. Studies suggest that ginger may also aid in weight loss.
